"Blessing of the Waters"

The Greek Orthodox Community of SA celebrated the "Blessing of the Waters" with a ceremony held on Sunday 8 December at the Charles Sturt (Henley Square). The holy cross was retrieved by Fotis Likouras who received a trophy and a gold cross for his effort. After the religious ceremony there was a Greek Festival with lots of traditional Greek food and the delicious loukoumathes as well as Greek live music by the "Zorbas" band and Dance performances by local Dance groups. The event was attended by several VIPs including the Acting Premier John Rau and David Ridgeway representing the Opposition.
