According to an announcement published in this month's edition of the Greek Tribune, the Greek Orthodox Community of SA will celebrate the "Blessing of the Waters" with a ceremony to be held on Sunday 8 January at the Charles Sturt (Henley Square) starting at 12.00 noon. Following the religious ceremony there will be a Greek Festival with lots of traditional Greek food and the delicious loukoumathes as well as Greek live music by the "Zorbas" band and Dance performances by local Dance groups.

A similar ceremony will be held on the same day by the Greek Archdiocese in Glenelg, near the Glenelg Jetty.
