Almost one hundred people attended a public meeting held by the Greek Worker's Educational Association "PLATON" at the premises of the "United Voice" unions in Torrensville, to listen to George Pontikos, a member of the Secretariat of the Greek "PAME" union, speaking about the deep economic crisis that is battering Greece - as well as the rest of the European Union. The Greek union leader was accompanied by a Greek journalist, Alexandra Liberis who was translating Mr Pontikos' speech in English. Amongst the audience were quite a few Australian activists and trade unionists who were interested to find out more about what is currently happening in Greece.
