Prominent Greek professor dies

The Greek community of South Australia has recently lost a very prominent member, Kyriakos Deliyannis who died on 22 December aged 83.

The late Kyriakos was born in 1927 in Florina, Greece and studied philosophy at the University of Thessaloniki. He also had a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Melbourne. In 1974 he was appointed at the College of Advanced Education in Adelaide, in charge of the Greek Studies campus.

Kyriacos Deliyannis devoted his entire life to the cause of the Greek language and culture. He will be remembered by his wife Eleftheria, his children and grandchildren as well as his many friends in Australia and all over the world.
