Election of New Executive Committee

A new executive committee has been elected for a new two year term, at the Greek Orthodox Community of SA in Adelaide. The new 17 member committee was elected by six hundred eligible voters, out of a total of 30 candidates. At their first meeting, the executive committee elected Mr Nick Portelos as the new President of the GOCSA. Vice President is Mr Evangelos Boyias, General Secretary is Ms Sylvia Cassoudakis and Mr Peter Tsonis is the new Treasurer. Former president Vasily Elovaris did not seek re-election. The new committee has pledged to safeguard the independence of the GOCSA, support the Greek culture and work towards more progress and better services for the entire community to enjoy.
