Awards presented to life long volunteers

of Greek Community SA

A pleasant surprise awaited four life-long supporters of St Constantine & Helen Goodwood church during the annual dinner dance of the church at Olympic Hall on 14 May. The un-suspecting Mrs Sofia Katsarou, Mr Giorgos Economou, Mr Nikos Antoniou and Mr George Chronis were presented awards of appreciation for their long services to the church from the first day of its establishment, over 40 years ago, receiving a standing ovation from patrons and official guests.

President of the Greek Orthodox Community of SA Mr Vassilis Elovaris, Member for Unley Mr David Pisoni MP and Mayor of Unley Mr Lachlan Clyne were amongst the official guests that attended the event. With nice food, wine and good company, it didn’t take long for the patrons to let loose and the dance floor soon became the hot spot of the night with DJ Stan the Man playing some of the hottest Greek songs available.
