Greek Workers celebrate May Day in Adelaide

Over 100 guests attended the annual May Day Dinner held by the Greek Worker's Educational Association "PLATON, of SA, on Friday 13 May, at 6.30pm at the Cyprus Community Club, 8 Barpowell St, Welland.

President of the association Mr Tony Marinos spoke on the occasion and referred to the long struggles of the working class to achieve better working conditions in Australia and overseas. He also spoke about current political developments in Greece, Cyprus and Australia.

During the evening, two members of the association, Theo Markou and Jim Papanikolas were honored with awards of appreciation for their long services to the community of South Australia.
